Beaufort County Traditional Music Association

The Beaufort County Traditional Music Association is pleased to present the BCTMA Third Thursday Showcase on October 15 featuring an evening with musician Mac McRoy and the Southpoint Bluegrass Band from 7:00-8:30.

The band is composed of veteran bluegrass musicians. Mac and Mary McRoy, originally from Beaufort County, play guitar and vocals. Steve Clark from Washington/Chocowinity area plays bass, with Mitch Mitchell from Cove City on banjo, and Jordan Sanderlin from Carteret County on mandolin. The band will be playing a selection of bluegrass, gospel, and original songs. Mac has performed on Song of the Mountains. The band has also been playing for church events and area festivals, and will play at MumFest in New Bern in October. This show will be sure to get your feet tapping and your hands clapping

Admission is free and donations are appreciated. This family friendly concert is sponsored by the Beaufort County Traditional Music Association, founded in 2008 to promote traditional music in Eastern North Carolina. The Showcase is held at the Turnage Theatre, 150 W. Main Street, Washington, NC. BCTMA also hosts acoustic string jams at the Theatre on Thursday nights and Saturday mornings.
